LEGENDARY WEEKEND BRUNCH IS BACK AT LA MAR BY GASTÓN ACURIO, AN ICONIC PERUVIAN DINING EXPERIENCE LOCATED AT MANDARIN ORIENTAL, MIAMI

After More Than a Two-Year Hiatus, Diners Can Indulge Once Again in One of the City’s Hottest Brunch Experiences, Featuring Signature Dishes Created by Executive Chef Diego Oka Beginning Nov. 12 and 13.

If there is a meal that Miamians are serious about, it’s brunch. Now, there’s an even better reason for eager eaters to head out on a weekend afternoon as La Mar by Gastón Acurio, located at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental, Miami, announces the highly-anticipated return of their immensely popular brunch following a two-year hiatus. Beginning Nov. 12 and 13, the restaurant will offer guests an expansive selection of brunch dishes including some of the very same options that kept customers coming back year after year in addition to new indulgences, making La Mar’s weekend brunch one of Miami’s most coveted reservations.

Available Saturday and Sunday starting at $135 per person, guests will choose from an array of delectable items from La Mar’s sizeable dining spread which, among many items, consists of elaborate hot and cold food stations replete with signature ceviches, causas, sushi, and salads, as well as juicy anticuchos, fried whole fish, empanadas and other traditional Peruvian cuisine created with Oka’s signature modern flair. In addition to the sumptuous buffet, the brunch experience includes seafood and grill stations, tableside Chaufa Aeropuerto to share, a choice of main course, and assorted desserts. Brunch also includes two-hour brunch cocktails, select wines, beers and champagne. Every dish will be as beautifully presented as it is delicious, with thoughtful and creative plating fashioning an inspirational feast for the eyes that rivals only the property’s stunning atmospheric setting overlooking Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.

“Our latest interpretation of La Mar’s wildly successful brunch marries all the important elements that make for an unforgettable dining journey: authentic Peruvian flavors evoked with classic and creative interpretations; artful presentations; and an inimitable location,” said Executive Chef Diego Oka, who will helm the curation of the brunch rollout.

The restaurant will also present a list of new and reimagined entrees for diners to discover including the Picante de Mani made with crispy pork belly, aji panca and aji amarillo sauce with peanuts served with white rice and choclo; and the vegan Kare Udon, created with Japanese curry with coconut, aji panca, udon noodles, mushrooms and seasonal vegetables. Of course, the classic and always popular Lomo Saltado, as well as the seafood-lover’s El Achupado — made with bucatini noodles, grouper, calamari, octopus, shrimp in chupe sauce, rocoto, tomatoes and huacatay — will be available to order as mains.

Visitors can also get excited over the not-to-be-missed and oh-so-Instagrammable Chaufa Aeropuerto that is also included with the brunch experience. The restaurant’s signature fried rice dish with a mouthwatering blend of Chinese sausage, bbq pork, fried rice, shrimp omelet, black quinoa, egg noodles, and pickled vegetables is prepared tableside in a sizzling pot and served family-style for all to enjoy (and photograph). To complete the memorable gastronomic experience, guests with a sweet tooth will delight with La Mar’s Dessert Retablo – a spectacular dessert presented as a small, colorful, decorative wooden house whose doors open to reveal Peruvian chocolate mousse, homemade candies, tarts and more.

Brunch will be served every Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is based on a two-hour dining experience. Guests will be entertained by live music along with stunning waterfront views.
