Chef Andreé Nuñez, a dynamic force in contemporary Peruvian cuisine, brings over a decade of culinary mastery, innovation, and leadership to the stage. Hailing from Arequipa, Peru—a city renowned for its rich culinary traditions—Chef Andree’s passion for the kitchen began early. At just 14, he immersed himself in the vibrant world of cooking, and by 17, he had joined the prestigious Gastón Acurio group, laying the foundation for a career marked by bold creativity and relentless pursuit of excellence.
His professional journey includes transformative roles at internationally celebrated restaurants, including Astrid & Gastón in Lima, ranked among the world’s best, and a formative internship at the three-Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca in Spain. These experiences cultivated his palate, deepened his respect for local ingredients, and sharpened his eye for innovation.
In the Middle East, Chef Andree played instrumental roles in launching and leading high-profile culinary concepts in Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai. His experience as Executive Chef in Doha’s Boho Social Restaurant let him develop creative, globally inspired menus and manage diverse teams, while his leadership at Tapasake in One&Only One Za’abeel pushed the boundaries of modern Japanese-Peruvian fusion in record time, working on two major projects in Dubai at the same time.
Today, Chef Andreé serves as Chef de Cuisine at La Mar by Gastón Acurio at Atlantis The Royal —a flagship of refined Peruvian cuisine in the region. As one of the first chefs to join the pre-opening team in 2021, he helped shape La Mar from blueprint to reality. Chef Andree has been a foundational pillar of the restaurant’s identity, from walking the site to building a world-class kitchen brigade. His role encompasses more than menu creation and execution—he leads team recruitment and training, ensures operational excellence, curates guest experiences, and drives the creative vision behind La Mar’s evolving offerings. His deep connection to the brand and culture and a constant drive for innovation have earned him a reputation as a guardian of Peruvian gastronomy abroad.
